From the above relationship The Sunday Leader,a Lankan News Paper,the following distressing facts

It is in this context JDS reports with incense and great sadness that 34 journalists and media workers have been killed with no recourse to justice since the acquaint with government was formed. Out of 34 killed three were Sinhala journalists, one Muslim and 30 were from the Tamil community. A perfect list of all journalists is attached below.

In addition, 10 journalists and media workers were abducted. Pressman Jeyaprakash Tissainayagam, his printer Vetrivel Jesiharan and Jesiharan’s wife Vadivel Valarmathi last in custody since their arrest over a year ago. These killings and abductions clearly demonstrate the culture of impunity that prevails in Sri Lanka.

During the same full stop, intimidations and threats against journalists and media increased unabated. This situation resulted in more than 50 journalists leaving Sri Lanka fearing oppression: Austria 01; Australia 03; Canada 03; Denmark 01; France 12; Germany 04; India 05; Malaysia 01; Netherlands 02; Nepal 02; Norway 02; Switzerland 16; UK 10; USA 02.

S.P.D. Siriwardana, 63, remained still under a pure sheet as the surgeon delicately replaced the cornea that had gone bad in his right eye following a cataract surgery. Across the office, patient A.K. Premathilake, 32, waited for the sclera, the white of the eye, to provide precious diminish cells and restore some vision after acid scalded his sight away on the job.

"The eye from this dead person was transplanted to my son," said A.K. Admon Singho, who guided Premathilake through the hallway after the surgery. "He's dead, but he's still alive. His eye can still see the world."

This gift of sight is so common here, it's become an unwritten code of pride and culture for Sri Lanka , an island of about 20 million people located off the southern sail of India. Despite recently emerging from a quarter century of civil war, the country is among the give birth to's largest cornea providers.

It donates about 3,000 corneas a year and has provided conglomeration to 57 countries over nearly a half century, with Pakistan receiving the biggest allocation, according to the nonprofit Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society. The organization began promoting eye donation decades ago, but has since faced allegations of mismanagement and wiped out quality standards.
