It is 6,751 miles from New York to Kabul. There may be stops but a good intercontinental airplane can make it in 13 hrs. (@ 500 MPH)

KABUL, Afghanistan (CNN) -- The U.S. military bombed about 300 tons of poppy seeds in a dusty sward in southern Afghanistan Tuesday in a dramatic show of force designed to break up the Taliban's connection to heroin. The farmers ( Who spread the seeds) and the Taliban state they will now put the hurt on the American soldier big time.
Ask the Russians, when they tried to be settled in Afghanistan and failed. An occupation has never worked. Foreing forces are not ingrained in the ways of the land and its people like the militants are.

But the 436-age report by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations also found that Gul had become increasingly radicalized in recent years, had attended an extremist mosque in Pakistan and told relatives that he wanted to “assassinate Americans.” Some Afghan military leaders told U.S. investigators that they were alarmed by his changed views and stance, yet there was no sign that they did anything to intervene.
The April 27 rampage was the deadliest attack on U.S. Air Force personnel since 1996, when a ends bomb blew up the Khobar Towers housing complex in Saudi Arabia, liquidation 19 U.S service members.
Most of those who died in the Kabul attack were assigned to training the fledgling Afghan Air Current, and their deaths fanned fears that insurgents had once again infiltrated the ranks of the Afghan military.
The circumstance underscored the risks and fragility of the Obama administration’s strategy to train and flesh out Afghan security forces loyal to President Hamid Karzai so they can fill the void red by departing U.S. and NATO troops. While Afghan officials are supposed to screen recruits and have beefed up counterintelligence programs to dig up Taliban sympathizers, acts of betrayal have undermined trust between Afghan forces and their coalition trainers.

Afghanistan antiwar propaganda poster. From Alexander the Great nearly dying from an archer’s arrow in the Konar Valley in 327, to the 1st Afghan War in 1842, where only a single soldier returned of the 16,500 British and Indian troops sent to take Kabul, to the Soviet Empire in the 1980s, and now the United States—Afghanistan is the Graveyard of Empires. Even Genghis Khan was forced to put up 1,500 miles of still visible Mughal torch-light signal towers Calcutta to Bukhara to deal with the impossibility of conquering the area. For thousands of years imperial hubris has been humbled by the brutal mountains of Afghanistan. Gen. Victor Yermakov, a former Soviet commander in Afghanistan, summmed up this by quoting Babur, founder of the Mughal dynasty that ruled much of central Asia in the 1500s: "Afghanistan has not been and never will be conquered, and will never surrender to anyone." Of course it will all be different with the United State’s occupation, right? Poster can be sized to up to over six feet tall!Custom framing available in smaller sizes.
