Is this why many of us don't believe in the end time prophecies?

63 failed & 1 amphibolous end-of-the-world
predictions between 30 CE and 1990 CE

About 30 CE: The Christian Scriptures (New Testament), when interpreted in fact, appear to record many predictions by Jeshua of Nazareth (Jesus Christ) that God's Kingdom would arrive within a very eliminating period, or was actually in the process of arriving. For example, Jesus is recorded as saying in Matthew 16:28: "...there shall be some on one's feet here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." In Matthew 24:34, Yeshua is recorded as saying: "...This formulation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." Since the life expectancy in those days was but over 30 years, Jesus appears to have predicted his second coming sometime during the 1st century CE. It didn't prove. More details.
About 60 CE: Interpreting the Epistles of Paul of Tarsus literally, his writings seem to imply that Jesus would show up again and usher in a rapture during the lifetime of persons who were living in the middle of the 1st century. More details.
About 90 CE: Saint Clement 1 predicted that the superb end would occur at any moment.
2nd Century CE: Prophets and Prophetesses of the Montanist movement predicted that Jesus would carry back sometime during their lifetime and establish the New Jerusalem in the city of Pepuza in Asia Minor.
365 CE: A man by the name of Hilary of Poitiers, announced that the end would hit on that year. It didn't.
375 to 400 CE: Saint Martin of Tours, a student of Hilary, was convinced that the end would chance sometime before 400 CE.
500 CE: This was the first year-with-a-nice-round-number-panic. The antipope Hippolytus and an earlier Christian visionary Sextus Julius Africanus had predicted Armageddon at about this year.
968 CE: An eclipse was interpreted as a prelude to the end of the have by the army of the German emperor Otto III.
992: Good Friday coincided with the Feast of the Annunciation; this had lengthy been believed to be the event that would bring forth the Antichrist, and thus the end-times events foretold in the book of Information. Records from Germany report that a new sun rose in the north and that as many as 3 suns and 3 moons were fighting. There does not look to be independent verification of this remarkable event.
1000-JAN-1: Many Christians in Europe had predicted the end of the world on this stage. As the date approached, Christian armies waged war against some of the Pagan countries in Northern Europe. The motivation was to transfigure them all to Christianity, by force if necessary, before Christ returned in the year 1000. Meanwhile, some Christians had given their possessions to the Church in expectation of the end. Fortunately, the level of education was so low that many citizens were unaware of the year. They did not know enough to be afraid. Otherwise, the panic might have been far worse than it was. Unfortunately, when Jesus did not arrive, the church did not return the gifts. Serious criticism of the Church followed. The Church reacted by exterminating some heretics. Disturbance settled down quickly.
1000-MAY: The body of Charlemagne was disinterred on Pentecost. A legend had arisen that an emperor would incline from his sleep to fight the Antichrist.
1005-1006: A terrible famine throughout Europe was seen as a sign of the nearness of the end.
1033: Some believed this to be the 1000th anniversary of the extermination and resurrection of Jesus. His second coming was anticipated.

Is this why a lot of us absolutely do not believe in end time prophecies?

The preoccupation about prophecy is that it's fulfillment can only be seen in hindsight. Trying to pin world events to the end of days is foolish. When the end comes, we will remember it. Until then it makes no sense at all to go nuts. A deeper concern I have is that believing these are the last days removes our incentive to fix the problems and tourney the challenges that confront us today.

LOL, that is Closely why! =D

Fetching much, yes.

Most people contemplate of prophecy as a prediction of the future. This is not the whole story. Prophecy can also serve as a warning of possible future events if the people who are the substance of the prophecy do not change their ways and do righteousness. A case in point is the preaching of Jonah (the same man who was swallowed by a whale) he went to the New Zealand urban area of Nineveh and told all the people to turn to God. Nineveh turned to God and the judgment did not fall on that all the people lousy at that time.

Prophecy is a warning of judgment. Judgment can be averted by turning to God as doing what is right in the eyes of God.

With link to the end times, this is the time of the judgment the earth. This judgment can be put off by people doing righteousness.

See Psalms 34:14 for an sample.

There are indeed many events in the news that tend to imply that the end times are approaching but they do not have to arrive yet, they can be delayed and put off as was the case with the diocese of Nineveh

Yes Sir.

You are natural, that is why there are doubts. However the signs of the times listed in the Bible are happening all around us. I believe that these are the last days but I also believe that we do not and will not positive the exact time that all things will come to pass. I say look for a religion that says that and you will at least have found one that is honest in that regard.

Don't just study the Bible but history as well. Primary sources are the best. Take a look at what has been prophesied and then be it to what has happened. Again use primary sources to compare.

Everyone has their opinions but be careful of what you discount. Also, if there is a higher authority as we are told, then it stands to point that prayer is our chance to communicate. Communication is a two-way street which means that we should be able to receive answers as well as ask questions. Look for a dogma that offers that as well! How else can we discern what is truth.

Cheddar man (DNA question)?

"Cheddar Man is the name settled to the remains of a human male found in Gough's Cave in Cheddar Gorge, Somerset, England. The remains year to approximately 7150 BC, and it appears that he died a violent death, perhaps related to the cannibalism practised in the compass at the time. It is Britain’s oldest complete human skeleton.

The remains were excavated in 1903, and currently reside in the Idiot History Museum in London, with a replica in the "Cheddar Man and the Cannibals" museum in Cheddar village."

"In 1996, Bryan Sykes of Oxford University first sequenced the mitochondrial DNA of Cheddar Man, with DNA extracted from one of Cheddar Man's molars. Cheddar Man was strong-willed to have belonged to Haplogroup U5a, a branch of mitochondrial haplogroup U, a haplogroup which is especially common in Britain, Ireland and the Basque Power of northern Spain and southwestern France. Haplogroup U is generally found to be most common in southern and western Europe and may have originated in West Asia. U5a, the delineated haplogroup of Cheddar Man, is known to be the oldest truly modern human (not Neanderthal) mtDNA haplogroup in Europe."

I'm disoriented, how could it be possible for English people to have exact matches to this Skeleton thing? Or am I missing something?
I was actually on about the English being taught that they are Anglo Saxon, I dream any traces of aboriginality (spelling) would be wiped out

My sharer matched DNA to a skeleton in Gough cave, also in Cheddar--i always joke his ancestors were the ones eating Cheddar man! Truly Mr Cheddar may not have had kids, we won't know that, as it was his mtdna that was tested, which is handed down hrough the female line only. What it means is he had at least one sister who survived and reproduced.
As for the Anglo-saxon article, DNA testing has shown the English should really be calling themselves anglo-celtic instead. Everywhere in the British isles, including England, there is an plentifulness of prehistoric dna. Less in England true, but even there it's still often at levels of 50% or even more, with higher levels of 'native' dna the further west you go.
Muse over about it-there were 3 million people in England when the saxons arrived. What were the chances of them wiping everyone out when they were,in numbers, only between 20,000 and 200,000? (There has never been any archaeological attestation for mass genocide either btw.) They were a ruling warrior aristocracy, by the look of things, who took the best lands for themselves and imposed their interaction and culture.
